I bought this TJM Nudge Bar for a good price thinking it would offer some limited protection for the front of the Freebie. Turned out to be more trouble than it was worth.

It came from a 1999 Freelander (not sure what model as I only saw it from a distance…1.8 I think, as there was no TD4 or V6 badges at the rear) and looked the same at the front as our TD4, but I couldn’t figure out how to make the brackets line up.

I took the bar and the car to a reliable LR mechanic (the same one I bought it from) and got them to look at it. They confirmed that the bar would not fit without extensive rework.

They did the honourable thing and refunded my money for the bar.

Moral of this story is to make sure that the aftermarket accessory you purchase is suitable for your car.
