Hi Paul,
I am currently looking at upgrading my P38 to some 285/75/16 MT’s, but am not sure how to get them to fit. I know that the G3 airbags are part of the package, but do you need to do a spacer lift under the airbags as well. I’d appreciate some guidelines on procedures and requirements.

Hi Vernon – even with the 2″ lift on mine, the 255/85R16′s (33.1″ OD) still occasionally rub on the front wheel arch when reversing/turning on EAS Highway Mode. 285/75R16′s would be much the same (32.8″ OD). Without the lift kit, you’d have to drive around at EAS High Mode all of the time.
The spacer lift is at the top of the shock towers at the front, and under the air bags at the rear. New, longer shocks front and rear, Gen III’s and relocate the brake hose brackets.
You may know from AULRO.com that I’ve recently purchased Hard Range Australia http://hardrange.com and am reviewing the lift kit as there a few improvements I want to make before selling it again.
That’s the beauty of having the original Hard Range car, I’m living the products they made (now me and Andy) and am pretty well positioned to identify where I think improvements are needed.
Cheers, Paul.
