I have had a few P38’s so far, including the two pictured below parked next to the slightly intimidated Freelander.
The middle P38 is now sold to another P38 enthusiast but continues to hold a special place in my memories as it is the one that taught me so much about these wonderful vehicles.
It was pretty basic in P38 terms, a 1999 4.0L V8 with cloth interior, but no sunroof, memory seats or steering wheel controls. It did however have a 2″ lift, 33″ tyres, throaty exhaust note, snorkel, and custom front and rear bars. A true beast on and off the road.
The black 2000 P38 on the left of the photo is a “proper” Range Rover with 4.6L V8 HSE with all the leather and gadgets. It is destined to become the next off road beast once my better half lets me have it back from shopping duties and ferrying her Boxer dog around in style.
